GREEN RIVER...

BIO:

Green River was formed in 84' when Mark Arm met Steve Turner through Alex. Steve, Alex and Stone Gossard, had all gone to high school together. Steve and Mark had been in Mr. Epp and The Limp Richards together for a short while. After both bands split Steve and Mark decided to form Green River. They next got Jeff Ament (Derranged Diction) on bass who Steve worked with and everyone knew from Derranged Diction who would often play shows with Mr. Epp and Spluii Numa. Jeff didnt had an unfavorable impression of Marks music from Mr. Epp who was honorably titled "the worst band in the world" but still wanted to play with Mark. Next to join was Alex Vincent of Spluii Numa on drums.
Later that year Stone Gossard who was in Ducky Boys with Steve, Stone added the second guitar sound Jeff and Mark were looking for. Their first recording was an 8-track made by the same guy who did the Deep Six compilation. They then were ready to record their debut album "Come On Down" on Homestead Records. They got ready to tour and Steve quit and next joined The Thrown Ups which Mark later joined. Steve was replaced by Bruce Fairweather(of Deranged Diction). Then the band went on tour. As they were coming back their record was finally released (about 5 months late).
And then the band then recorded their next release, two songs on the great "Deep 6 Compilation" on C/Z records with bands like, The Melvins, Skin Yard, The U-Men, Soundgarden and Malfunkshun. The next recording was a single Together We'll Never / Ain't Nothin' To Do. In the middle of 86' they recorded their next EP "Dry as a Bone". It was recorded by Jack Endino and released on the then young label Sub Pop in 87'. After that the band started working on their next album "Rehab Doll". They started recording with Jack again but the album was to be made with with Bruce Calder. Before the album was released in 88' the band spit up.
After Green River, Steve and Mark joined Matt Lukin from Melvins and Dan Peters from Bundle of Hiss and they started Mudhoney. Stone, Jeff and Bruce joined Andy Wood to form Mother Love Bone. When Andy Wood died Stone and Jeff joined Pearl Jam. Alex moved to Japan. Then moved back to America to work for the State Legislature and later to study law.

PAW

BIOGRAFIJA :

One of the better, but overlooked groups of the grunge era, Lawrence, KS's Paw made a name for themselves with aggressive yet melodic albums like 1993's Dragline and 1995's Death to Traitors. Lackluster sales caused their label, AM, to drop them, and it seemed like the group had dropped off the face of the earth as well. However, Paw resurfaced in 2000 with original members Mark Hennessy and Grant Fitch and new recruits Jesse Larson and Jason Magierowski. Their third album, Home Is a Strange Place, was released in mid-2000 by Koch Records.

Malo me je zacudilo to sto su nastali 1993 godine, a zapravo i nemaju niti malo onog ' posta' u sebi koji mi je najgori kod bendova ( recimo kak silverchair). - takve bendove cak nit ne smatram grungeom.

SKIN YARD

Skin Yard was an american grunge band from seattle. The group never gained any mainstream audience, but they have been an influence on their contemporaries (Soundgarden, The Melvins, and Green River). These bands are considered the early pioneers of the sound that would later be called grunge. Some members of the band have gone on to work with successful bands such as R.E.M. and Soundgarden.

The band was formed in January 1985 by Daniel House and Jack Endino. Ben McMillan and Matt Cameron later joined the band in the same year. Skin Yard played its first show in June 1985 and opened for the U-Men. Skin Yard was featured on the Deep Six compilation. This album featured the first commercial recordings of Green River, The Melvins, Soundgarden, Malfunkshun, and Skin Yard. In 1987, Skin Yard released their first single and debut self title LP. Matt Cameron left the band in June 1986 and joined Soundgarden in September. He was replaced by Steve Wied, but he only lasted two shows. Future Mother Love Bone drummer Greg Gilmor replaced Wied but he too only lasted two shows.

In the fall Jason Finn (later of The Presidents of the United States of America) joined Skin Yard. Jason left after eight months for personal reasons. Scott McCullum filled the vacancy in May 1987. He lasted two years and left after a U.S. tour that was quoted as being "the tour from hell". Skin Yard took a fourteen month hiatus and when Barrett Martin joined the band they started playing again.

In March 1991, Daniel House quit the band because he had just become a father and wanted to spend time with his family. He was replaced by Pat Pederson who stayed with the band until their breakup. The band had decided to break up after recording their 5th album.

Ben McMillan and Scott McCullum had started the band Gruntruck prior to the break up. Pat Pederson and Barret Martin worked with Jack Endino in Endino's Earthworm. Daniel House is now head of C/Z Records. Barrett Martin played with Screaming Trees until their breakup. Martin also worked with Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready in Mad Season, Peter Buck of R.E.M. and even toured with R.E.M.

IN MEMORY OF DAVE ABBRUZZESE

* Da me nebi netko krivo shvatio - nije covjek umro, ali sa njegovim odlaskom iz pearl jama zavrsio je onaj njihov 'granderski' dio karijere i zapoceo tzv. clasic rock period pearl jama
Kolko god mi je drag Cameron (i zbog soundgardena/i pearl jama/ a i zbog znojnika) ipak mislim da pearl jam nije onaj pravi bez DAVEA ...

GRUNTRUCK & MY SISTER'S MACHINE

pa...... sad sam se odlucio stavit linkove gruntrucka i sis machina ( mada sam mislio stavit skin yard) jer smatram da vecina vas ipak ne posjeduje njihove albume.....
Meni su jebeno odlicni oba dva benda, mozda mi je ipak malo gruntruck bolji, al sis machine je takoder prejeben.....

MY SISTER'S MACHINE

Seattle rockers My Sister's Machine first appeared in early '90s, riding the wave of grunge into the mainstream and a record deal despite their relatively short existence. Vocalist Nick Pollock had played the guitar in Alice in Chains in the '80s, and remained in the close-knit Seattle metal scene that included those two bands as well as Gruntruck and Screaming Trees. The band also consisted of guitarist Owen Wright, bassist Chris Ivanovich, and drummer Chris Gohde. After two unheralded albums, they called in quits in 1994. Pollock would go on to form Tanks of Zen in the late '90s.

Moram se pohvalit ( jos uvijek nisam ) da vec sad smrdljivi znojnik matta camerona stoji doma kod mene u regalu u mojoj sobi, tj. ulovil sam ga na koncertu pearl jama.... haha

neznam kak ce se dobro vidit, tj. kakva je kvaliteta slike
al svejedno, jebeno sam ponosan sta sam ga ulovio ( i to laktom )
* layne - matt je bacio 2 znojnika na svaku stranu ( ako se dobro sjecam) - ja sam ulovil bijeli, a neki drugi sretnik je ulovil crveni

MUDHONEY

Osnovani su 1988. u Seattleu, SAD. Članovi grupe su: Mark Arm (vokal, gitara), Steve Turner (gitara), Matt Lukin (bas) i Dan Peters (bubnjevi).
Kratko i jasno, Mudhoney su bend koji je odavno zaslužio poštovanje. U skoro dvadeset godina karijere ovaj danas radnički bend to je poštovanje i zadržao zato jer nije pametovao. Od ubitačno dobrog i primitivnog rifa Touch Me I'm Sick, Mudhoney su ostali pravi rock and roll band iako su upravo oni sasvim spontano formirali grunge i kao pokret i kao muziku. Objavili su 8 studijskih albuma, nešto različitih kompilacija, nasvirali se koncerata i to sve u skoro istoj postavi. Jedino ih je prije par godina napustio originalni basista Mat Lukin. Taj čovjek danas je stolar, u dobrim je odnosima sa Mudhoney a muzika ga više i ne zanima, čak je i ne sluša. Jedno vrijeme svirao je izvjesni Dukich sa njima naravno kao basista ali i Wayne Kramer. Nema drugog zaključka nego da se ovdje radi o poštenim ljudima. Na početku karijere odradili su svoj dio muzičke istorije i onda nastavili da budu rock band, ono što su zapravo i željeli od početka. Sve što su u svojoj karijeri koja još traje uradili samo je plus ekstra. Nije loše za grupicu momaka čija je srednjoškolska ambicija bila da snime singl ploču.
